Padawan, you need to not think like this. if you have a hand like AKss and have a flush draw on the flop, you are a head of a 1 pair hand with about 54% equity in this hand. so you want to get as much money in while you are a favorite to win. The times that villian has a set and redraws are just coolers.

if you hit your flush you will rarely get much action out of the villian. so try to get him to put his stack in while you can. again you are a favorite. you cannot be results oriented.

i started doing a lot better once i realized this and started making more money as well
