I like a bet fold on the turn because it tells you straight away whether or not he has an ace. You can even fold out hands that are beating you. Don't have to bet big, just enough for you to represent it. His calling range is so polarized that it should be easy to deduce whether or not you're good. In contrast, checking tells you nothing about his hand and makes your river decision extremly difficult.

I am calling, reluctantly, because it looks like you have given up on the hand I think from the villains perspective. If he has a 6 or A then you are screwed but then why would he bet so large on the river, wouldn't he want to get value? it looks like he is trying to fold you and not have a showdown. If I had the A or 6 I would be sticking in a much smaller amount and trying to enduce a bluff reraise or get a crying call from an overpair. He could have a QJ, JJ, TT etc type hand. The lack of a turn bet leaves you in the dark as deviant said. |
