Default 50NL - double barrel ok against donkey?

ok my only read on this guy was from my friend who told me he was a donk which I figured myself later.. is this a standard double barrell even against a donk or should I just give up? Should I bet bigger on the turn?

I post this hand because I just hate cbetting flop, checking turn and getting donked into pot on the river so I've been trying to double barrel scare cards more and giving up less but it hasn't been working too great so far. What do you guys do to counter that?

That link doesn't show your hand, but as a general rule, there is no reason to double barrel bluff calling stations.

The jack isn't a great card to double barrell against a loose passive calling station.

Target the weak tights.

I had AK. So it's better to just cbet and give up if we don't improve or just not bet at all?

50nl on Cake is filled with these types of players and I find myself losing a lot of small pots with AK when I don't hit because they limp call preflop and call my flop cbet, turn goes check/check and they donk river. I just run into those a lot and I'm not sure how to adjust..

You shouldn't be cbetting every board against this type of player, especially in position.

Against a calling station in position, cbet 50% of boards when you miss to mix up the range for when you hit, have an overpair etc. the rest take the free card, if you hit you can go with the hand if you missed you've seen 4 cards its time to fold to a bet and save some money wether he has air or no its the +EV play i think here. The only cards you can double barrell there are A and K and even those a weak station is likely to call you down with 2nd pair. Its a bad idea to double barrell/triple barrel a calling station or a donk. Your opponent probably doesn't even know what you're representing and many stations have the habit of putting the raiser on AK.

This. That is something that took me a long time to realize and you can check behind on the flop w/ 2 overs and a fair bit of showdown value. When the turn hits me, I tend to check it back again at times to get them to bet into me on the river because many will just fold to your turn bet ecause it hits your perceived range so hard.

789ds would be way worst than this board. there's a ton of hands he calls with pf that miss this board completely.. so are you saying you would never cbet a raggy board with missed overs in position? I should probably have checked the turn but a cbet on this board is pretty standard I think.

tighten your cbet range, increase your double barrel frequency, and do some delayed cbet.

of course all these depend on game flow, your opponent range, your image, and board texture.

while for this hand with AK i would prefer to double barrel or delayed c-bet than cbet and give-up depend on this opponent, and how you have played against him (how many times you have iso raise, and cbet him etc.)
