Default 50nl - Flop top two, bad turn, shitty river

Hey guys,

Opponent is pretty fishy, he could show up with any flush draw, SCs, a better two pair or even AK in this spot. I'm really lost on this river, what do you suggest?

Check/call any reasonable bet.
I dont think betting out in this spot is the way to go as he can raise you as a bluff or for value and you dont want to get raised on this board. Also betting will fold all hands that you beat easily (missed FD - weak 1 pair hands....).
Let him bet and use reads to make your decision (opponent is pretty fishy is NOT a read).

I used the word fishy because his preflop cold calling range is wide (since no stats on Cake).. He could show up with pretty much any suited card here so it's hard to know whether he got there...

just looked up the notes I have on him..calls with garbage hands pf, min raises turn with big hands, calls down light.. so I guess it's pretty clear he's on a draw or some sort of one pair hand. Can I get value from AJ, AQ, KJ, KQ against this type of opponent or is it too thin?

I don't know if he's the type to bet when checked to..

The turn card isn't that bad actually, but the 8 on the river does suck. I'd value bet thin here. I'd do what I call the "see where I am"/value bet line here. I'd bet around 50% to 55% pot here. Hands like KJ, AJ, J8, KQ, AQ will pay you off here, and if you get raised, then you can let the hand go, without having invested too much on the river. I don't like the c/c line because if villain bets anywhere from 2/3 to full pot, you're put in a very tough bind, and if villain shows you something like KJ, you're feeling sick for not value betting something there on the river.
