Raise preflop. But yes, river is a fold.

Def raise pf. However, with no reads, I look him up here. But I also assume other players are idiots until they prove to me differently whether it be in a hand against me or another opponent at the table.

Is it wrong my thinking here and I should treat everyone as a thinking player until they prove they are an idiot??????????

assuming everyone is an idiot would cost me alot of $$....

I figured 2 pair/set would should some agression on flop or turn.. the only hand that does this is a combo draw... ass end straight with flush draw or like Acex spades

I think you took his response wrong. He wasn't berating you, just stating why he did what he did.

I wasn't mocking you in any way.. I'm just saying I don't like to assume that right away. If I offended you i apologize. We probably play different styles.

If i'm in a questionable spot i chose to fold. others chose to call. It's just a variation in play..

thanks for the advice. i'm glad you let me know that you felt offended. maybe i need to use my word choice better so i don't offended others by mistake.

There was some discussion that I wasn't happy with. Please refrain from name calling, etc in the future. I understand tempers are flared with poker, but let's just remain calm.

Thanks,
Trikkur

There's been really little in the way of math discussed here, which is how I like to make most of my river decisions.

Here you're investing $12 more to win $32.50, so about 2.6 to 1 on your money.

So the real question you should be asking is would the standard person have something other than a flush in his range here about 30% of the time.

Personally my answer is no, there are very few hands he could be playing this way. He's not sticking around with a j2, he's raising two pairs or sets on the turn to protect on a super drawy board, he might even have a pair to go along with that flush draw. With no notes, I don't think you can call based on the math here.
