Hi guys, I found the link to that free pdf in a recent thread "ebooks" in this forum. http://s3.amazonaws.com/ryanfee/fees6max.pdf I downloaded it and printed it out (the old good way). I went through the first 20 pages. It's all about preflop game. Some questions to that (text within quotes are citations): 1) 3Betting range OTB, page 14: "Here you probably want your ratio to be 3:2, so for every 3 value 3bets, you throw in two bluffs" Do you guys use such a loose 3betting strategy OTB? experiences? 2) Rules for squeezing, page 15: "1. Don't you ever squeeze AQ or JJ or TT unless you are going to call a shove/shove over a 4bet..." ...because this is kind of the range that we're not happy to put it in pre? or what? thanks for your input!

| ok, I keep that in mind. I used to play 50NL and 100NL. Then I took a break for 6 months and now starting again @ 10NL.

He contradicts himself a ton, but for free content, this is pretty good. Since you asked about 3-betting, let's take an example of 50NL: UTG $50 raises to $2 It's folded to you in LP. There are 3 things to take into consideration: -Opening Range -Continuation Range -Postflop Expectation (and 5b expectation to an extent) The tighter the CR, the more polarized your 3-betting should be. If villain is TAGgy 18/16 with a high F3B stat of 80%, 3-betting QQ is terrible. You fold out every hand you dominate. Reciprocally, if villain has a wide CR, you can be 3-betting a balanced range. I know I've played versus some villains that I've felt good about 3-betting AJo against (for value). In this case, you should be widening your value range (basically TT+) and narrowing your bluff range (SC's, trash, etc). Look at OR and CR as a ratio. If the ratio is high, you should 3b more polarized. If it is low, then you 3b a balanced range. But, when you 3-bet, the hand isn't over. Adjust your 3-betting range for postflop expectation. For example, if an opponent calls 3bets liberally but folds to cbets or double-barrels frequently, you should be 3-betting this opponent with a very wide range of hands. However, if your opponent is a better player, you'll be looking to jam it preflop or make him/her fold as a general rule. Your opponent's 4b frequency also effects your PE. An opponent who 4b's or folds reduces your postflop expectation considerably, especially with 100BBs and under. |
