Default 100NL AI preflop

Yesterday, I saw 2 villains stack off with 88 (both had 88) preflop with 100BB effective stack sizes. It did't seem like there was crazy aggression going on prior to that (not that I saw a full history). I was just on the waitlist for this table.

After the hand, one of the guys writes in the chat box "too idiots." Yes, he did spell two that way.

Anyway, that was just kind of random/ a little bit funny. I really find a lot of humor from thing that happen in the poker world.

Another thing that I really lol'ed about was on Deuces cracked when Bart is interviewing Harrington and you can tell that Harrington is pissed about all the new preflop stuff that goes on, like 4 bet bluffing and 5 bet bluff shoving.

Whoever 3bet the 88 in the first place is probably a poor player, and the person who 4bet his even more so.

Yeah, it's a losing play.

I have 5bet shoved 7 high and such hands (in HU tho), I don't think making a generalization like shoving small/medium PPs for ~100bb is always wrong is the right way to look at poker. I'm not saying that it's a good thing to shove small PPs, but you should be open-minded enough to think of it as a possibility. It's not always bad.

Anyway, if two people are getting it in 88 vs 88 for 100bb, the chances are very high that they are poor players (or tilting)... I don't disagree with that. :P

I just wanted to make sure that OP understands, that there's a possibility that these guys have had a long history together or table dynamics had been completely crazy or something like that. It is possible that they (or at least one of them) did what he did for the right reasons or at least had a real though process behind his play.

it is better to shove small pocket pairs than AK against AK, AA, KK villain calling range. Personally, I think it is better to shove suited Aces because some villains flat the 3 bet with AK or whatever. Do villains at 100NL have a 4 bet folding range? It seems like whenever they 4 bet they get it in unless you have 3 bet them repeatedly and they are starting to play back at you.

88, though, can play a hand even without set value so it's sorta a waste.
