I see you don't live in an ex-soviet hellhole lol

I guess I'm a bit of a special case. I would actually be quite happy to make like 6-7 bucks per hour with low variance and mental strain. Given my luck recently, even that hasn't been working out lol, but I think it's a realistic nice little goal. I don't think I have it in me to aim much higher though.

Even besides that though, your argument that you'll be able to move up faster if you table-select less isn't very appealing to me. The number of tables is one thing, I definitely agree with THAT part, but IMO you should *always* be table-selecting hard, even if you are learning. It's not like you have to ever jump a massive gap and risk getting destroyed at a new limit if you haven't practiced against the tougher guys on the lower one. If you are not learning anything from well-selected tables at your current limit, it's time to move up anyway, you should be growing your roll if you don't have enough instead of placing yourself in less profitable situations at a limit you are about to leave anyway.

Actually ex-russian... (ie. Finland)

Anyway, of course making something like $5-10/h for playing a game is nice, but the games are still relatively soft so there's somewhat realistic change to much higher income and you're probably run out of motivation sooner or later if you don't feel like you're improving.

The quickest way to run out of motivation is to lose a bunch of money on an investment where you weren't proven to have a worthwhile return to begin with :P I can't afford to sink a lot of effort in an activity on a mere hope that it might allow me to make a very nice income later on. I need returns now. I guess the immediate returns from microstakes indeed are not worth it for most people living in richer countries, or more capable people aiming for higher income. But they are definitely worth it for me. If they weren't, poker would be out of the question for me.

Also, then there's that stuff I added into my previous post before you made yours so you probably couldn't have noticed it.
