tis indeed a cool job and one that has let me see some very cool things over the years. I've been to the Jet Propulsion Labs in Pasadena quite a few times which is an absolute blast if you are into cutting edge space technology and the like, and I also did a stint at Los Alamos National Laboratory (the place where they developed the bomb -yes the BIG bomb) for a year, and worked under contract for them back here in Australia for a year developing and testing various algorithms.

I love my job but the travel aspect abroad has quietened down now because of the kids (two of em under 4 years old).

that realy sounds amazing seems extremely cool, i'm in to all the space technologie! but damn, how much years did you study? definitely a smart guy, poker should be easy for you just keep grinding them low limits and you'll definitely pull it off!
say hi to the kids

Wink

Theory and practice can be two different things

I did study for a long time. I went back to school as a mature age student and finished high school (2 years - left early and joined the navy), did 3 years at uni to get my physics degree, did an honours year, got a scholarship then did another 3 years doing my PhD. Was a long haul but I think it has payed off now.

Will keep slowly grinding the lower limits and try and get up to 100NL as my major poker goal. I expect this to also take me years but as Sun Tzu said,

"Wait Long By the River and the Bodies of Your Enemies Will Float By"

Hi,
I'm Nuvan 20 years old and live in Perth, Western Australia. Currently studying engineering, but find it incredibly dull hence takign 6 months to see what i want to do. I play poker for some money on the side, as i despise working as a waiter and would like it to replace my waitering job.
I love videogames (own a wii), watching anime and tv shows (on the internet hahahaha) i also love listening to music/dancing probably the only thing which is currently stopping me from being a couch potato hahaha.
I am also trying to earn enough to move out closer to uni so i don't have to travel so much to get there as well as to experience life outside of home as im currently a bit of a leech.

I play 6-8 tables of 50NL but ill probably drop down the numbers to work on my game. Taken a week off poker cause i went on a overly aggressive rampage think 35/30/5 and lost a couple of BI's so just cooling off for a bit while watchin vids.
