I'm recently watching like 10 Episodes of Hunter x Hunter per day...

My Rating:

[ ] ok
[ ] worth watching
[ ] pretty good
[ ] great
[ ] amazing
[ ] absolutely ass kicking
[x] hunter x hunter
[ ] best anime on earth

Watching the first 3-4 Episodes I was like "ok, it's a nice anime for kids, maybe funny to watch"...but when the real story begun I couldnt stop watching. I'm trough the first Season and arrived at Episode 11 of Season 2 'Greed Island' and I really love that Anime! I hope there will be some more Seasons, I dont know how much Episodes exist. Concerning the decent Story and the ton of new characters in Greed Island it should be much more then 100.

Thanks for that hint!

Edit: //
Damn, what a disappointing finish. I can't believe there is no season after Greed Island. Almost all the storylines that already begun are unfinished. There had to be at least another 70 episodes, but yet theres nothing than a cut in the middle of everything. That's the exact same thing with Berserk: Amazing anime, but leaves you alone at the most exciting point of the story. That really sucks...I hate unfinished animes. Seems like I have to check out the Manga and see if the story continiues there...

For Hunter x Hunter there were 4 parts.

Anime
OVA1 - Part 2 of Anime that finishes the storyline
OVA2 - Greed Island
OVA3 - Greed Island Part 2

This totals 92 episodes I believe and finishes the Greed Island storyline.

This is the total Hunter X Hunter series though. It continues past this, but the guy that was writing the manga got sick and it was slowed down for a while. There have been rumors of the next season starting soon.

BTW, Killua and Hisoka are some of my favorite characters EVER.

I also watched GunGrave. The first half of the series (the whole mafia part) was really good and I loved the story. The 2nd half of the series was kind of lacking for me, but the last episode was really good. I'm glad I watched it.

I wanted to watch to Rorouni Kenshin OVAs, but honestly that's just not my style of anime so I've only watched part 1. It's ranked #1 in a lot of ratings, so I do want to finish it at some point in time.

Has anyone heard of Haibane Renmei, I think I might check that out too.

Ok I just watched 2 more animes.

Haibane Renmei - This was not what I thought it would be. It wasn't bad, but it's not for people that want action.. Honestly I'm not really sure who to recommend it to because it's hard to classify it. I would probably avoid it and watch others.

On the other hand, I watched

Vampire Knight - This was amazing. They've only released one season so far, but it was great. It's a mix between action, drama, and school life, but not your normal girly school life anime. It's pretty intense and a great watch. It's being voted as the best anime of 08.

I've also been keeping up with Naruto Shippuuden, the newest episode, 67, was totally amazing. Every week I wait for the new episodes to be released.

I think I'm going to watch Witch Hunter Robin next or maybe Chrno Crusade.

Come out all you anime geeks, I need more people to talk to, it's lonely watching anime and not having conversations about it with other people. If anyone wants my AIM name to talk about anime purely (please no more poker AIM) please PM me. I need anime friends

Witch Hunter Robin is a pretty good but not great anime, I have the complete Season on DVD at home. It's not a waste of time but you can definitly find better series in that genre.

I'm now watching Fullmetal Alchemist and think thats one of the most intense and brutal series I watched so far. I'll check out Vampire Knight afterwards and then come back to the list on AnimeNfo.com. I dont understand some of the ratings (Death Note somewhere in the middle WTF??) but it's a decent list overall i think.

I loved fullmetal alchemist. It got me into anime to start. Check out this new site I found as well. People will recommend animes depending on which one you like. So say you really enjoyed Berserk, you can type in berserk and get all the ones people have said are similar.

Anime Recommendations, Anime Reviews, and More! - Anime-Planet

Here's an example anime. Say you enjoyed death note a lot.
Death Note - Anime-Planet

You can also check out my bio of all the animes I've watched, I'm getting up there
Trikkur - Anime List - Anime-Planet

I guess I'll hold off on Witch Hunter Robin then. I'm really looking for an anime I can get totally enthralled in and forget abotu the horrible downswings I'm in. Hopefully something that will make me watch from morning to night and not stop. You got any suggestions?

By the way, not technically an anime since it was produced in the US, Avatar: The Last Airbender was awesome. They just completed the finale. For being a nickelodeon cartoon, this was sooooooo good. Great battles, comedy, etc. I don't know if it would be on my top of the list to watch, but if you ever are bored on a weekend and want to watch something, this is for you.

Also, everyday I think about it, I enjoyed Hikaru No Go more and more. I'm not sure what it is about this anime, but it totally blew me away. It's about a freaking board game and yet it's in my top 5 animes ever.

Mr_Nutflush, if you want to chat on AIM, MSN, or Skype sometime, send me your name in a PM and I'll get in touch with you. We both seem to watch a lot of anime and have similar tastes. My only other anime friend watches like one episode every 4 days, so he's boring.

Well, last month the mainboard of my laptop crushed and all internet connection I've got for now are PCs where I have no administratory rights (at GF house and on a PC on our lokal network at home), so I currently can't use any chat programs. I have to grind NL25 a lot to get money for a new laptop lol.
And I never heard of AIM...I used ICQ most of the time.

I have vacation from study for 2 1/2 month, I hope that'll be enough to get a new laptop trough poker and maybe I will get good enough that I can consider buying an UMTS card and get a mobile flat.... Until then all I can do is posting here.

Instead of watching anime every 4 days I actually never watch less then 4 episodes per day lol. So theres some stuff to talk about.

Concerning Witch Hunter Robin: What I didnt like and whats probably the reason for me rating it so low is that it's one of the series that seems to start great but then gots cut down in the middle due to budget problems or something. The first episodes start with a decent stories and a lot of great characters, but then suddenly u got the feeling the producers ran out of money and simply tried to make a loveless unsatisfying finish. Thats very disappointing. Other series which I feel are the same way are Gunslinger Girl and Hellsing. It sucks watching 10 episodes only to see the story getting worse and worse, having a shitty finish.

So I just found out there was a 90 minute Hikaru No Go OVA and I was so happy. It was awesome, I just want to repeat how awesome that anime is. So if you were to chose my next anime, what would it be?

Witch Hunter Robin
Chrno Crusade
GetBackers
Hajimo No Ippo

Or anything else. I would like to get something between like 24-55 episodes and I would like to avoid a Samurai or Vampire themed one for now. Any good suggestions? I've been having a hard time because I feel like I've watched all the "great" animes in the action/adventure/comedy genre and the ones I've watched recently are just bad versions of the great ones.

By the way, I hope you are enjoying FMA, it is so awesome.

I've heard about ChronoCrusade and GetBackers, watched Witch Hunter Robin and never heard of Hajimo no Ippo, so I can't really give an advise here.

I think if your fed up with typical Shônen Anime and watch out for a 24 something episodes series you could try out Vision of Escaflown. It's a fantasy anime, and it's a really good one. Kinda old school, but nevertheless a must see I think. I don't know the number of episodes, but it can't be more than 36, which should be ok for you I guess.

A totally different anime worth watching is Elfen Lied. There are only 14 episodes, but they are freaky and intense. Pretty brutal, but no vampires or samurais. Just tiny pretty Girls killing thousands of people. A decent story for such a short anime I think.

I'm now at episode 48 of FMA and the person uploading the series on veoh.com stopped at 46. The only other versions I can find on the site are either with doubled subs (english and some east european language, don't know for sure, but they overlay) or with german synchro which sucks so bad I cant listen to it. I can understand a little bit of the original japanese synchro, but not enough yet to really enjoy watching without subs, so I have to find another site where I can finish the anime.

But now I know the reason why you didn't upload any vidz recently. You seem to watch even more anime as I do lol. No time for poker anymore huh? Thought you make your living trough poker...did you have so heavy downswings that you started watching anime 24/7 now?

It's not that I'm fed up with typical Shonen, I just can't find one that matches up to the ones I've already watched. Maybe I'll get into Bleach or something. I've also got the first 300 episodes of One Piece downloaded, but I'm not sure I want to get into those mega animes yet.

I've seen Elfen Lied, it was a solid anime. I'm not sure if it should rank as high as it does, but it was definatley a good watch.

I'll give your suggestion a try, I've already got it downloaded so I'll watch it next. Hope it is good.

I'll probably make a new vid soon, but I'm downswinging really really hard right now and haven't been in the mood to play much. I hope you can find the last few episodes of FMA and don't forget there is a movie that comes after the series that is pretty solid.

I finished FMA. Great Series! I know I watched the film like 3 Years ago and was quite confused, because I didn't know it takes playce after the series, so I didn't understand much of tha stuff going on there. I will wacth it again, have to finde a site for the japanese version with english subs now.

I also watched the first Season of Vampire Knight and it was worth it I guess. I LOVE the drawing-style. But the story isn't too fresh I think. Reminds me of a mix of Hellsing and Trinity Blood, but here the Characters do a lot more of talking and sensless, stupid behaviour. Yuuki is kind of everyones bitch (anyone want to suck me? lol), not understanding anything going on in her world. Zero is whining all the time, crwaling on his knees like half of every episode, giving a perfect example of an anti-hero. Such characters drive me crazy. There could have been A LOT more cool vampire-slaughter action instead of that sometime way too boring character-forming. And it's quite difficult to decide who is good, bad or evil. I've heard it will turn into a really good series at the 30-40s (seems to be that way in the Manga), so I will wait for that.

I'm now at Episode 25 of Hikaru No Go, which was quite a surprise for me. I never thought a series about japanese Go could be so interesting and exciting. Pretty much happening the same stuff in every Episode, but there's something I can't describe that drives you deep into the characters and the story. Definitly way more decent then the game-based crap like Kickers, Mila or Yu-gi-Oh, which is shown on German television.

You have a really wide range of genres you like Trikkur, respect. I found a lot of amazing stuff for watching. Thanks a lot for that!
