Poker vs. WoW

So with the way things are going for me at the tables lately, I'm thinking of just giving up poker and playing WoW instead. I figure I'll at least enjoy giving my money away if I'm playing the game.

Anyone else play?

I used to play Diablo 2 a ton in high school and have considered getting into WoW for the last 4 years. (I am not exaggerating).

I wish I would of started, but now I feel like it's too late.

I've played a lot of Starcraft and Unreal Tournament (although none in the past couple of years) and a buddy of mine is trying to get me to play WoW. Looks like fun but I'm not sure I need another time consuming hobby...haha.

Waiting for Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 to come out...

I'm beginning to think Starcraft 2 isn't ever coming out. My friend that plays WoW keeps telling me...SC2 is coming out before Thanksgiving/Christmas/Memorial Day/etc. and it seems that they just keep pushing out the release date.

Imo there wasn't any offical release date for Starcraft 2 yet... I hope, that it get's released 2009 but Blizzard always takes quite a lot of time to develop those games (and since their games are great... it's worth waiting).
Hm, I don't think, that Diabolo 3 is hitting the shelves this year - even though it would be great ^^ I'll buy a new PC for those 2 games xD

I've followed the SC2 developement pretty regularly since it's been announced. they will be in the beta phase soon, but true to blizzard's nature, it'll be "done when it's done".

as for WoW, I used to play and it's a fun game. however, it's way too addicting, and I realized that it wasn't worth the things that I was giving up to enjoy the game. I.e. I would have a raid scheduled and my then-gf would call up and want to hang out. the sad part was there was an actual decision involved. after choosing the gf more often than not, i realized that the game wasn't healthy.

if you're at all good at video games (and it's not that hard to be decent, really), you'll probably want to join a good guild and begin raiding, which can be extremely time-consuming, especially when there's new content that's come out (which just happened last week).

as for it being too late to play trikkur, that's nonsense. if you spent a lot of time on it, you could probably get a character to 80 in ~3 weeks. or you could just buy a higher-level character and either level him up or learn the ropes when you're already 80, even though it's technically against the ToA to buy/sell a char. however, everybody does it, and i sold one of my former characters without a problem. unfortunately I have 2 more 70's sitting around collecting dust haha.
