Default NL50: incredible session

hi again,

here is a short session vs a superaggro that I quit when I recognized that my emotions take over. I'm actually in the biggest downswing I've ever had. Since two weeks nothing works, really nothing. I'm getting pushed around by every donk and I'm losing 3 stacks a day at NL50 SH that I played with 6ptBB/100 before. Would be supernice if someone can tell me how to beat these maniacs.

Okay, im not trying to sound mean but honest. I watched it and i think that you played basically every single hand wrong. I cant' go over every single one but basically you both give up on the turn and river all the time and cbets were random. This guy wasn't agressive at all and niether where you, you need to raise like 90%+ of your hands OTB HU. 58o raise, K3 off raise, pretty standard.

You are playing your pp really wierd far too aggressive pf and bad postflop.

Low limit HU is super hard to play because the rake is ridiculous and you need a huge edge to make it profitable.

Lastly don't include every single hand from the session no on wants to watch you or him open and the other fold 10 times.

You need to pay attention to villain and adjust. For instance, you saw him call a 3bet with 97o, but you continued to try to bluff him preflop (e.g., 4betting 22). And as loltrickedu pointed out, you just need to ramp the aggression up. You will need to bluff much more at HU than you do at 6max--especially 50NL 6max.

yeah that's the way it goes the last days. I have lost my game completely because for two weeks I always get pushed around when I have a marginal hand and I have the 2nd nuts when I have a strong hand. So meanwhile I even don't know which boards to cbet any longer and stuff like that...

The problem with posting HU hands is that it's really really hard to make people see villain with my eyes when posting a single hand but maybe I will cut the most out next time.

Anyway it would be nice if you can pick maybe one or two and show me what I did wrong

That's exactly my problem. As you can see villain 3betted every BTN raise of me after I luckboxed him with KQ. Of course I can wait for 99+, AJ here but my stack shrinks so fast and even if I get AA and 4bet him after a while he might be cautious so that I don't get much value.
So I just decided to 4bet bluff 22 after the fifth time or so (no way that's my usual line with 22) but he simply calls and imo it's burning money to continue bluffing with really nothing against him. I'm also completely unsure if this type of player will ever fold to a raise postflop so I have to bluffbet two or three streets at least.

PS: Why is there more rake on 50NL HU than 50NL SH?

It's not that there is more rake, but it is more rake coming from your stack as opposed to spreading it out amongst 6 people. Makes a HUGE difference.

When I divide the paid rake value from PT3 by the hands played on both limits I almost get the same number. Are you sure with that?
On which limit is it more profitable to play HU then?

The rake is capped at 3$ per hand (possibly varies on different sites) so the higher the limit, the less effect it has on your winrate.

As for the session well it seemed you weren't raising enough buttons, watch one of loltrickedu's or trikkurs HU vids and you'll see how many hands they raise.

Don't defend trash like 34s, you don't want to play that oop. fold or 3bet bluff but don't call. Against this opponent - snap fold
I also don't like your call of 3bet with QTs and call on K high rainbow. You are literally never ahead there. I assume you were trying to float him but if you already have a read that he's not the type to cbet and shut down, why call? He already showed he's not going to fold much and you see him calling you with bottom pair and even value betting it, so just fold, at least postflop.

I play at stars and this site Poker Rake - How to Calculate Poker Room Rake - Calculating the Rake says

Quote:
Heads-Up: rake will be collected on "1-on-1" tables at a rate of $0.05 rake per $1.00 in the pot, up to a maximum of $0.50 rake per hand.
So I can't see where that is more than in other game modes

Sorry, looks like HU rake cap is lower. Either 0.50 $ or 1$, depending on the site and the limits. I play mainly 6max so yeah that's where the cap is 3$.

Do you know which rule applies when 2 players play HU on a 6max table?
