Default 600 NL (what would you do)

6 person table.

I'm in the small blind with AK. Keep in mind I've been running poorly with AK, losing the coin flips when I push all in pre flop.

Anyways.

Player in second position raises to 18 (standard raise)
Player behind him raises to 63.

Comes around to me with AK and my thought is that I want to see the flop so I just flat call, hopping to hit my A or K obviously.

The first raiser calls as well.

Flop comes. Q Q 3 rainbow.

Action goes...check, check, bet (100 into a 192$ pot)

So obviously I should fold but for some reason I decide to try to make a play on this guy. I wanted to make it seem like I had a Queen. Plus I just flat called his 3 bet on the flop so he has to respect my hand some what.

The other player folds so now its heads up.

turn is a 4. Still rainbow. I check. he bets 160 into a 392.

I lose my head and insta push 460. He calls my 300 more.....he has AQ.

So I know I could have prevented this if I raised with my AK preflop, hoping that he would fold....whos to say.

I would like to know if most of you would 4 bet in the BB with AK.

thanks all. hopefully i explained it well enough.

this is entirely player dependant.

I don't like calling cause you're gonna be OOP pair-mining and you dont get much value when you hit.

You probably shouldn't be playinig 600NL though. Atleast not online.

You're not good enough cause you don't even include any reads on the players or the way they have been playing, you didnt include stacksizes and you dont put them on a range of hands at all and only consider your hand and trying to win the pot.

I also don't know why we should keep in mind that you have been losing flips with AK. However your luck went in the past is in the past and has no effect on future events.
You're not more likely to lose another flip just cause you have been losing them so far.

The fact that he showed up with AQ this time does not mean the only hand he plays this way is AQ or that you couldve known before hand that AQ would be in his range for playing this way.

Postflop you played the hand horribly though, if you think his range for 3betting preflop is that wide that he's going to have a lot of bluffs here, then you shouldve 4bet.
Assuming a random 600NL player is going to bet/fold AA/KK on this turn in a 3way 3bet pot with not even 2 potsized bets left is just bad.

Flatting preflop is fine imo as you rarely get looked up by worse, but at 600NL people are very likely to level themselves into rebluffing so 4-betting can't be bad.

Postflop was atrocious. You should've just check/folded.

Pre is fine imo to keep his range a little wider... but if you feel not confident in your postflop play (or play like above) just 4bet and get it in... better to run into his top range than to stack off with 0 equity

seriously, don't play 600NL.

Learn about bankroll management & try to move up slowly as you learn how to play better and build your roll.

You'll just be giving away money if you don't, and could soon be broke.

Yes, you're not ready for 3/6 at all. As played, raising pre is easiest if you're not ready for this situation. River shove is pretty awful as your have very little FE vs better hands that bet three streets in that spot.

You're close on the street count, but...ummmm...no.
