I think we are behind here almost always on this river, but with us having such little left, I think I make the crying call.

I can't fold the second nut flush here. Cooler.

This is pretty standard, the only thing that i would do differently is bet more on the turn, I would be about $2.40 into a $2.7 pot. In the lower limits people will pay you off for more so there is no reason to be less. I am shoving the river everytime. Not much that you can do here but pay him off and make sure that you never play the hand like he did!

I play 10NL myself and usually when I see a river bet like that it's usually someone with a weak flush. I always go for max value when I have a J+ flush and it works out for me a majority of the time.

I do agree with JibNinjas about the higher raise, at these stakes you really need to crank up the volume sometimes, especially against loose players.

As played, you can call, though you are beat most of the time ...

Then, could you tell me what you are actually doing when betting the turn ? Are you value-betting, semi-bluffing ??
I don't think you have too much value here, a TX hand or XdXd beats you. Even if he continued with worse pairs, he's gonna let them go most of the time if he hasn't a decent flush draw.
Then, about the semi-bluffing part, you are maybe already dead ... either on turn or river !
So, very close according to me against a loose passive player but I think you are already crushed on the turn against a tighter player.

On the other side, you could have controlled the size of the pot and have an easier decision on the river, anyway. Enough value could still have been extracted. But again, it's very close, in my opinion.

You continue to maintain control of the hand, we are out of position so it is important to be the one to dictate the action. If we check we are giving up on the hand and giving him the right to bluff us on a scary board. he can have many hands here that we beat and most hands that he could have that beat us we have redraws to beat him.

You have to remember why WE float. we call a flop in position with the intention of taking it away on later streets when a scare card comes. the way that this hand was played, if i was the villian because of the bet size i would have popped it up knowing that the board was scary. There are people at these levels, like me, that understand things like floats and will continue to beat up those who are always looking at the board and assuming that their opponent has the goods.

if you look at the way that he played the hand, he is either terrible, or he was floating you to take it away on the turn and when the diamond came he went for the cheap river card because he picked up the second nut flush draw.

Talked about the hand with a friend of mine whos playing decently 100/200nl, and started at lower limits.
In his opinion the turn bet should always be there, but like someone said, it should be way higher.
I think I was betting less cause for some reason I was affraid of the T, he also said a check call on river was better cause I could fold to a shove on river (I dont beat anything if he shoves the river, except if I have a good read it's a fish), but I can call a smaller bet if I get a 'right' price.
I like his analysis, also liked the response I got here, gonna post more hands in future for sure

more responses welcome greetz

Great analysis, he was a 'semi-fish' I would put him on a float if he was somewhat decent, but he wasn't, he just called with overs, didn't know that in the hand btw (saw that in later hands, and now he is on my buddy list), but at that moment I didn't know, I really should have bet the turn way more so he couldn't call for the flush (he prolly would have done it, but wouldn't have gotten such a good price).

and idd, there are some ok players at 10nl, I consider myself one of them, I know all the terms, I watch more vids and study more then I play, but hey, making money isn't always easy
