Default Leak AJ in blinds - 6 max $25NL

hi, new to the forums. Love the videos.
I've recently started playing online - played only live before. I'm a 26/18/3 player over the last 6k hands at 6max $25NL and I've noticed I'm losing money with AJ/AQ in the blinds quite often. The line I usually take is below: (Villian is 54/23/1.75 but only 40 hands)

Full Tilt Poker, $0.10/$0.25 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LeggoPoker.com Hand History Converter

UTG: $26.20
MP: $25.55
CO: $128.60
BTN: $33.15
Hero (SB): $31.60
BB: $26.05

Pre-Flop: Jd As dealt to Hero (SB)
3 folds, BTN raises to $1, Hero raises to $2.50, BB folds, BTN calls $1.50

Flop: ($5.25) Jc Kd 6c (2 Players)
Hero bets $3, BTN raises to $12, Hero folds

Results: $11.25 Pot ($0.55 Rake)
BTN mucked and WON $10.70 (+$5.20 NET)

- Since I was the PF aggressor against a button raise, I cbet even tho I have 2nd pair. Should I just be checking if there is an overcard? What if there was no over card? Definately, cbet, right? What if I flop air on a uncoordinated board with no overcards? cbet, right?
- Should I just be flat calling form the blinds with AJ/AQ type hands and betting out if I hit? Seems that I would run into trouble oop with a better A. I wouldnt put him on AA, KK or QQ as I think he would 4bet PF, but AK would call a 3bet.
- the problem with my line is that I've just lost 22BB (like 20% of my stack).

thanks in advance

AJ can be a hand that is tough. i had the same problem at one time of over playing/valueing that hand.

I think a 3bet here is fine considering your opponent seems to be pretty loose aggressive so he can have a very wide range of opening hands on the btn. i would have 3bet more though. i will typically 3bet to about $3.25 here as you are playing out of position and this way if he calls his hand will be a little more defined.

if he was an average tag i would flat and if he was a nit then i would fold, as you are dominated a very high % of the time.

your lead was fine as you need to maintain control. with a pocket pair or suited connectors he will most likely fold. here you can safely put him on a hand you has you crushed. so folding was great.

hope this helped.

Your line here is fine except for the 3bet size (I like $3.50 - 3.75). Lots of times villain will fold to the 3bet or the cbet. But it doesn't always work. Reload and move on.
