He might have a set, but a lot of people do this with a flush draw IP to get a free card on the turn. I'd probably 4 bet just to establish myself at the table.

How come you didn't have a full stack?

I don't like a 4bet at all. I probably just call his 3bet and re-evaluate on the turn.

In the AQ hand snap fold to this 4bet... I play the 99 hand the same.

On the min raise against the 16/12, I'd probably see a flop and think about pushing with a wide range. Maybe any non K flop.

You might get him to lay down TT if a J hits and if A or Q come, you're in anyway. He may lay down AK if junk board.

I was sure my nines were good, so shoved and they were until he he 2 eights on the river and turn - this guy was just getting under my skin, limping and calling every bet pre flop. I KNOW now it was mistake - I shoved the AQ as well he showed aces. I just dont think I am cut out for this Poker lark

It will get better... don't give up... I was making all sorts of calls and 3 bets really not knowing where I was at.. just hoping I was right... Now if I don't know I might make a move here or there but I just let it go. Wait for a better spot. If they bluffed you fine.. let them think they can. Then pick your spot and nail em to the wall.
