Guy recently sat down. Played pretty tight. Only weird thing I saw him do was raise PF then C/R the flop (Q high dry board I think). I err by being too tight. Keeps me alive in tourneys and lets me pick good spots to double up. As soon as I folded I remembered one of the videos talking about snap shoves and how they're usually draws. He had been so quiet I just "knew" he had JT or 89. I think the only smart thing I did was sit out for an hour soon after this hand. Thanks all for confirming that I am a world class nit. Last edited by linqbait; 09-27-2008 at 05:10 PM. |

So basically guys you are trying to tell that you have to go all in with AA everytime, no matter what. If you beat you beat(just cooler), but no matter what all in blind if possible? isn't it like hitting the wall with open eyes? |

ok, in this situation. what do we beat? any pair, and that's it The guy is pretty tight(if he was just a fish, then 100% all in) so he won't go all in with J high. Will he go all in with flush draw - possible. But more likely he just hit his set (he donked pretty strong, that reraised us ) I don't try to be mean or any, cause I would call it myself. Just I lost with AA,AA,KK in exactly the same spots. If the guy just flatted my reraise. I would go all in here, but him shoving on flop, kinda strong IMO |

This is a board with a multiple draws which are the hands that make up the majority of his shoving range given he checked the BB. So we beat a LOT of hands; spades, 910, J9, J8, Q8, 108, KJ, QJ, 68 etc etc etc as well as bluffs if we saw him c/r a dry flop before. The key thing is that against his RANGE we're good most of the time and so we call. Just because you lost a few pots with AA on a dry board or got sucked out on doesn't mean it's the wrong play but it DOES mean you're very results orientated.

Ok R8TME. This is what I was getting at in my other thread. Is there a scenario to lay down AA on the flop in a $25NL or $50NL game that you can lay down AA on the flop? I know I'm over-tight which is why I started this thread, but I figured I was at best coin flipping to his shove. |
