The way the hand played with him betting strong and getting called all the way, I'd think I was in trouble. Maybe I've been playing at Full Tilt too long where people keep showing the nuts in those situations, at least against me. :-) If I think about getting all in on the flop, I'd do it gladly. If I checked the river and he shoved, I'd insta-call. So I guess after thinking about it more, I can't really fault a call. It just sucks. I'm a nit, so I'd check call the river. If anything, I'd want to give him a chance to bluff into me or bet me with AQ or whatever. Betting big might scare away weaker hands and only invite the nut shove. For what it's worth, villain probably should have tried to control the action at least by the turn. Hero could be on a set. He would have the option of checking behind a paired board on the river. |

in a hand like this i think that i am going to felt this pretty much every time. a limped pot and you hit the flush on the flop, there just is not much more that you can ask for. becuase it is a limped pot he is going to be less likely to give you credit for the flush. if the board does not pair or the 4 to flush does not come i am getting all of my money in as often as possible. the fact that he had a better flush is just a pretty bad cooler. if there was 3 or 4 people in the hand and there was a lot of action then i would consider laying this down because the likely hood that someone has a better flush is pretty strong then. otherwise reload and move on. |
