linqbait,
I like a call/3-bet with small suited connectors much more...
1 - you might just take it down right there
2- Just like you said if the flop is good for you aka. st8 or flush draw you can check raise
and probably take it down or just float and if you hit you'll probably stack them.
3- If you get 4-bet its so easy to dump its not even a thought

One thing I did notice playing this way as opposed to a much tighter style is variance... prepare for it.. I've hit 2 pair with these types of hands got my money in good and ended up sucked out on. Which totally sucks...

I don't know how this is possible. I 3bet good hands for the most part and still end up with a 7-8% 3bet overall. That's really not going to have a big impact on your VPIP/PFR numbers though since that stat only applies to pots that were raised before you acted PF (hopefully).

If your VPIP/PFR numbers are 10/8 then you're obviously not stealing enough from good positions. Even playing 10/8 from UTG is too tight imo. UTG I raise very good hands and a few suited connectors otherwise fold everything else and I still end up playing 14/14. I play 43/37 from the button.

Well, it's not my overall, just from a sample from the other night when it seemed that _every_ time I had a decent (not great) hand one of the three guys in front of me raised. Maybe it was just variation but I'm trying to get smarter on what to do with bets in front of me.

And I am playing too tight -- you're right.
