correct ninja but it seems like they are folding 1 pair type hands and calling with sets...

either way not really getting max value cuz against a set Im a 3 to 1 underdog..

but lets use this hand as an example

JdQd for villian
AcKc for me

flop comes Qc 7c 5s

Im barely a favorite here... Why would I want to risk my whole stack on a coin flip when I know I can pick a better spot... with only $.70 invested why risk $20?

Now I understand once we get higher in limits its a little different but on 20NL it's only cost me money. if I check and he bets I call, if I hit than Ill bet it out... I've noticed Im getting called even when I do this. Sometimes they even raise. Some people just arent believers.

i am not saying that you should just open shove. but you need to play it faster. You are a favorite in this hand. If you had AA and and knew that villian had a lower pair you would bet to get value. that is what we are doing here. trying to get value.

also if we bet he raises and then we shove, we also have fold equity which makes us a big favorite in the hand. lets not forget about the times that we call down and do not hit and let him take us to value town. or we hit on the river and bet and he folds. we could have bet with air. we just lost value.

i am just saying that i started making a lot more money with my draws once i started playing them this way. yes, i do get people that just fold and it feels like you just lost money, but that happens when you have AA too. i have gone though runs were it feels like i do not get any value out of my good hands and am only getting called when i am crushed. but that is just a bad streak.

last night i got AA twice and KK twice in the first 5 minutes of play. Both of my KK hands got cracked by sets and i lost my stack. then i got AA and lost my stack to a set. then i got AA again, raised and everyone folded. Now i am not going to play any differently. it just happens, although i think i did cry a little. lol

oh yeah totally agree with playing it fast.. definently going to c-bet... and bet and draw on the turn as well.... but if they shove over my c-bet or even my turn bet.... I know I'm behind..

now if they raise my c-bet and they are an aggro player Ill probably shove depending on our history together...

but if its a solid tight player. Im calling a flop bet but dont see how if I miss the turn with my draw I can really continue...
