I respected the other player. Not for his stats, since he was 40/5 over 100 hands. But for not bluffing and just playing his hands postflop... so I'm thinking "why this player?" on the turn. And I'm thinking I don't want to lose $20 with AA in this spot (especially with people limp/calling with any Kx, Axs a daily occurence at this level). As for my image on the table, I was playing tight aggro, 20/15/2. I had been playing squeaky clean, and I hadn't shown down any double barrels or trying to hard bet 66's on a 5 hi flop 2 streets or anything. Still, I doubt a player with his stats is keeping note of my image. As for utg's image, he was basically loose preflop and tight passive postflop. Easy to mistake for just a calling station, but is actually a postflop nit who likes to see flops. These type of players I hate the most after the super aggrodonks since they call with nice draws and shut down if they don't hit or trap you with big hands. And obviously being so passive they get value by minraising and putting out fishy looking valuebets. I had never seen the check-raise move from him before. I dont think I am ever folding this , lol. Shove it! He'll do this with any pocket pair. If he got it, ok you lose (thats poker) but I dont think its good to fold AA here against a 10NL player

Seeing as he's playing 40% of his hands, I think we can assume with quite a large degree of certainty that he is doing this with a 5 or 3. If you think pairs are part of his likely holdings, you could call the minraise and call a river bet if you think he'd turn those kind of hands into bluffs against you. Plus the fact you're deep makes it more likely he has 56s, 57, 45s type hands too. Either fold, or call and call a river bet would be my line, depending on bet sizing/timing etc. How often does he raise the turn, have you seen him take similar lines on paired boards, how often does he fire the river for value etc... Shoving sucks imo. Anything you beat is snap-folding, and everything that beats us is snap calling, except badly played TT through QQ maybe? I don't know. Just seems completely uneccessary to overshove here, especially seeing as stacks are 200BB deep. I just don't like it at all. |

His line looks very strong here but I would still call his minraise and another reasonable river bet. I expect him to show up with 56 or A5 type hands here a lot though. But someone so passive could also take this line with TT-KK.
