Default Felt so damn good, but was it the right move?

little background:

I've been sitting at this table for about an hour, a half hour in an annoying donkey joins in. A few hands earlier he got me to fold a decent pot by pushing all in. later on i get him on a flop by check raising him pushing all in to which he could not call. he decides to try and get back at me (I think, or it was a really bad bluff) by pushing all in to my bet on the flop with decent outs of a straight. there were 2 hearts showing however but also a straight draw for me. I suspected his all in push was no good and I had decent outs (i think) so I called him and was able to obliterate the donkey.

Cake Poker

I felt I played good because I got the read, but your thoughts?

edit: first post btw, shoutout to loltrickedu for the sick vids

Well, if you give him a quite large range like this, you have 40% equity:
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 39.154% 38.58% 00.57% 32846 489.50 { AdTd }
Hand 1: 60.846% 60.27% 00.57% 51315 489.50 { TT, KTs+, Q9s+, JTs, 98s, KTo+, Q9o+, JTo, 98o }
There are no pure bluff, only semi-bluffs in that range.

You get about 22.5 to 13.5 ~ 1.66 to 1, so you need to win about 1/2.66 % (37,5%) of the time.
=> Call is an ok play, if you think, that he shoves that range.

But: If he does not shove 89 it looks way worse:
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 29.832% 29.26% 00.58% 20274 399.50 { AdTd }
Hand 1: 70.168% 69.59% 00.58% 48227 399.50 { TT, KTs+, Q9s+, JTs, KTo+, Q9o+, JTo }

If he has pure bluffs in his range:
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 51.487% 50.91% 00.58% 55442 627.50 { AdTd }
Hand 1: 48.513% 47.94% 00.58% 52203 627.50 { TT, KTs+, Q9s+, JTs, 98s, KTo+, Q9o+, JTo, 98o, 65o, 54o }

Well, as you see: You are not a favourite if you call against some kind of reasonable range => high variance call.
I would prefer, to check behind on the flop.

I think it's fine to make marginal moves to try and bust short stacks, especially if you have a read.

thanks for the input guys.

another quick question:

is rakeback a feature that is free to all or do you have to do something special on it? I know only certain sites do it, but I played for a bit on full tilt and cake and dont know how it works. Can anyone chime in on that?

Most sites allow new players to sign up for rakeback, though not all sites offer rakeback. Usually, existing players who don't have rakeback can't get it, but that's not always the case either.

Any way to check if I have it or not? I don't remember signing up for it specifically :/

Does extra money show up in your account around the same time every month that you don't remember earning at the tables?

If you have to ask, you most likely do not have it. Check your cake client, is there a "Stats" or "VIP" button below your name in the My Accounts tab?

If not, then no, you don't have it. Search other posts on how to get the rakeback feature, it's definitely something you want to get if your even semi serious about poker in any way.

Good luck!

You don't have it Cause you have to register through any site (e.g. PokerTrikz), that offers Rakeback. You could contact the Full Tilt support and ask, if it is possible, that your account gets Rakeback... if you haven't signed up through another affiliate, it could be possible.
