Default 10NL: Big draw on turn after calling donk lead

Villian is a 16/10/11 over 88 hands
tanked for a moment and have to dump this with so little invested. I liked my hand but didnt have enough information and his line looked really wierd. I was thinking maybe 2 pair like 89, possibly st8, all afraid of 2 callers because of the flush. Really wierd line for a set.
Just totally confused and with a player to act behind me I folded. Was this correct?

honestly. I floated the flop cuz I really didnt understand his donk lead for 1/2 pot. I have been seeing alot of people do this and I just cant fold every single time someone donks into me but I didnt think raising was smart with someone to act after me. I would have called another bet just not an overshove.
