NL10
ptbb is 1/100 = 0.20/100
bb 1/100 = 0.10/100

The question you probably meant to ask is "is there a difference between a pokertracker big bet and in game BIG BLIND?". Big bet means 2x big blind and PT uses big bets instead of big blinds, so ptbb/100 is 2bb (as in blinds) per 100. However, simply "bb/100" is often used meaning ptbb/100, that pt- part is just to clarify that it means bets, not blinds.

There is no such thing as a big bet in nl/pl poker so no there is no difference between a ptBB and a Big Bet.

?? The reason for the "pt" (as was said before) is to distinguish between bb/100 (big blinds per 100 hands), and BB/100 (big bets -- usually 2 big blinds -- per 100 hands).

The reason people use ptbb/100 to describe nl/pl winrates is because the popularity of these games is a relatively new phenomenon. Before the mid 2000's people played limit games and measured their winrate in how many big bets (the 60 in a 30/60 limit game) they won per hundred hands.

When Poker Tracker came out it used this BB method of calculating winrate, so the NL players got used to seeing their winrates in BB/100 and the habit has just stuck around.

The default setting for Holdem Manager is to show winrates in bb/100 so maybe the use of ptbb will fall off (though I doubt it).

Just figured I would point out that you haven't told me anything new and that my original statement of "There is no such thing as a big bet in nl/pl poker so no there is no difference between a ptBB and a Big Bet." still stands as being true.

It might be true, but there's a specific reason why ptbb is used as the standard measurement for winrate. Two different people have already explained why, so your statement has been addressed.

I switched from PT3 to HEM and my winrate doubled! A++ software would buy again.
