Default drunk play

Hey everyone, I just thought I would post this. This happened last night (I know, cheeseburger stakes, but I only play after my kid goes to bed, and for fun, etc), and me and my wife thought we would drink a little bit, and I said "Hey, I bet I could 24 table no problem)... hehe.. AA was my most losing hand.. do you think it was variance or just bad play?

Playing while drinking is automatically a beat. Alcohol affects our decision-making processes way before we're slurring words or even getting a real buzz.

I've uh... "experimented" with enhancing my play with alcohol enough times to realize it's consistently -EV. I just seem to get into a lot more wierd spots when I've had even just 1 or 2 drinks. I get more flustered by beats, I start complaining and self criticizing a lot more, don't care about what I'm doing to a smaller degree, focus too much on things I shouldn't be focusing on, etc. It's not a coincidence.

Drinking and poker just doesn't mix. I don't even like to mess around with play chips while drinking anymore. I get a much bigger satisfaction nowadays from playing to win, and I know I can't do that reliably while drinking. It just frustrates me and I try to overcome the effects of alcohol and end up getting a headache. Then I'm losing chips, have a headache, and feel less drunk. Beat, beat, beat.

I think I know the feeling...

NL20: -9bin in 750 hands... Tho later on I was reviewing those hands, and there was only 2 really bad plays (230bb total), I also had an AWFULLY cold deck in that session... But yeah... could maybe have saved $50 of something if wasn't drunk.
