A vpip of >40 either means, that you have handreading skillz like god and play a huge variance but very powerful LAG style.... or (what is way more likely), that you are a losing player, who does not respect position.
So 4 the normal human being, that wants to win... a vpip of >40 in a 6max/FR game is way to high. If you play HU it's fine.

So tighten up your range (especially in EP and MP) and do not steal every time

it basically means you are playing too many hands, and most probably r getting into too many marginal spots where u r dominated.

For micro. It seems 12-16 seems to work well. I fold AJ all day in early position.

What's your PFR? I think DeKay is right that it means that you're a hyperLAG or a calling station.

This...

If you're playing 43/36 (vpip/pfr) then maybe you're playing very well...... but since you asked the question I have a feeling you're playing more like 43/12 and you are losing money. I don't mean that in a rude way, it's just important to be honest about how you're playing so you are able to make the monies.

In general anyone with a vpip over 40 is going to be a my main target at a table.

As it happens that is pretty much what I was playing. Thing is I have now had to pull the reigns in as my post flop play isn't great and I was loosing money. Mainly I think from calling to many raises with over pairs with some sort of backdoor flush / str8 possible, but mainly I think im just not calling with the right pot odds. Im now playing at around 30 +/- 5 vpip and 20 +/- 5 pfr. workin a little better for me just im an action monkey and love to play pots!

Patients is a virtue, which unfortunately I find hard to obide by! New years res

To play the micros anywhere over a 25 VPIP you need to be a very good post flop player, and I mean very good, there are all types of players in these games and you need to be a master reader to know where you're at playing in marginal situations. I would recoment that you read Ryan Fees 6-max guide and play even tighter at the micros than sugested in the guide. The starting ranges Ryan sugests in the guide are good for 100NL and over anything below that you should be playing much tighter if you want to consistently win.

If you can't find Ryans guide on the forums or over the net pm me with your email address and I will email it back to you.
