Default Sustainable BB/100 Goal

What is a realistic goal at the micro stakes? I am thinking 10 or so.

800 hands in and I am at 67/100, but have been running extremely lucky. When I have been sucked out on, luckily they have had a smaller stack.

Also, does the winnings line above the EV line show that I have been lucky on all in hands?

10 would be excellent, and yes, you ran well over that sample.

it doesnt mean u have been getting extremely lucky, but more like ur QQ has beaten AK all in preflop.

Isn't that still +EV? A pair is the better side of a coin flip than AK, since AK still needs to improve. I don't have poker stove here at work, but I think its like 55% in favor of the QQ.

depends on the suits, but yeah, it's a small favorite regardless

5ptbb/100 is what people should shoot for. Anything above that is really really good.

It's going to be very difficult to have a longterm winrate above 10ptbb at any level if you're not playing HU.

Yeah, 10 ptbb is the magic number.

Currently playing 25NL, and in the last 5k hands, I'm winning at that 10 ptbb, which is really cool. Very small sample, but I feel it's sustainable. Even though my overall at 25NL is a shameful 1.25 ptbb over 25K hands, it was only because I went through a bad LAG period for a while, just trying out different things, seeing if 25NL was all that different from 10NL (it isn't).

But I've seen a steady progression in my game over about 60K hands. I was a 2.5 ptbb winner at 10NL over 37k hands. 4 ptbb winner over 25k hands at 10NL (latest hands as I got better). 6 ptbb winner over 15k hands. 8 ptbb winner over 5k hands. But that's with FTP's 10% rake at 10NL.

So I assume I maximized my winrate to that magic 10 ptbb before moving up. And I'm seeing the same type of results as I play on my A game at 25NL now.

So from breakeven/losing player (with 2 years experience donking around) to 10 ptbb winner at microstakes took me about 6 months of learning/sharing/soul searching at PokerTrikz.

There's other members around here who made far faster progress than me though. I don't play all that much.

Variance is bigger than you'd think when it comes to winrates... I beat $50nl for more than 10ptbb for nearly 100k hands, then hit a massive downswing that bought my total winrate down to just 6ptbb in only 30k hands or so. Poker is a pretty sick game imo.

Like I said, anything above 5ptbb is very good -- 10ptbb is about as high as you can really hope for if you play 6max.
