Default Moving up to 50nl table selection question

I am shot taking at 50 nl and have been trying to get as many notes a I can as situations come up. I've noticed a few fish but I usually play during the day and/or at night so there is a different player pool. Some people recommend to look for tables viewing a lot of flops. I am playing on cake so tracker software is not an option. Should I play at these tables, or go for lower view flop % to just pick on nitty players and slowly grind up a few little pots with less decisions.

I don't know that you're ready to move up to 50NL if you don't know whether you will make more money playing loose fish or nitty regs.

You don't need to table select at 50NL.

I can't disagree more. You should be table selecting at every level. While I'm sure you're reasoning with that reply is that at 50NL all players are bad, which may be true but they are not all equally bad and some tables are much more profitable than others.

As a genral rule I look for tables with a high average pot relative to the blinds as well as a high percentage of people seeing the flop. Get into the habit of constantly scanning the lobby for better games and switching tables when the ones you're on slow down.

Of course you can make money without table selecting, but it's a matter of maximizing your profit and being as efficient with the time you spend playing as you can.

Scanning the lobby is overrated. You get on a table with high vpip and you get 20 regs lining up, after 5 minutes it's passing blinds with tags. The reason I said you don't need to table select is because making your own tables is the very best way to get fish to come to you.

Lol well I guess you should specify then bc he can't read your mind.

You are using a method to dictate who you're playing against. I'd say that's a form of table selecting ... you're not just picking any random table and sitting down.

I do that too, tbf.

On second thoughts, do whatever is the most +ev for you. I'd rather sit and play any tables than spend 20 minutes of time that could be spent playing trying to find perfect tables than stay perfect for an x amount of time.

Each to their own!

I never table selected and I don't do it atm at my current lvl. If you want to get better, you have to play good players...

Table selection is important as long as you're doing it right... otherwise the table creation method is probably the best way to get in good games.

In order to table select well/efficiently you need to datamine as many tables as possible for 20-30 minutes before each session... using something like HEM or PT3 you'll have their stats pop up on the HUD and you can easily find fish. As soon as you find a good open seat take it, and keep looking for good seats while you're playing. Keep datamining the entire time you're playing.

Before long you'll hardly need to do anything leading up to each session since you'll have stats on almost everyone.

Programs like SpadeEye make it pretty easy to table select as well.
