No reads on villain. Stats are 20/10/3. Seemed straight forward and I haven't seen him get out of line or do anything dumb. I have not tangled with him although my image is a 22/17 and I have been stealing blinds alot. Whats villains range here? Fold or call? Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (4 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop BB ($19.21) UTG ($12.12) Button ($13.97) Hero (SB) ($18.97) Preflop: Hero is SB with K , K![]() 2 folds, Hero bets $0.50, BB raises to $1.50, Hero calls $1 Flop: ($3) J , 9 , 6 (2 players)Hero checks, BB bets $1.60, Hero raises to $6, BB raises to $17.71 (All-In)

Well you can't fold here after C/raising. I mean your whole plan was to C/raise and get it in right? If you're gonna fold after checkraising then you're essentially bluffing with KK here. I prefer 4betting pre though since it is gonna be very hard to play a 3bet pot deep OOP. Especially if you have a very aggro image and it's a BvB situation (he's more likely to give you less credit) Psychic baller read: villain had JJ ? Last edited by Qgel; 02-27-2009 at 08:28 PM. |

lol you´re playing 10NL, you shouldnt get fancy flatting KK pre flop, thats just wrong here. Dont rely too much on stats either, IMO at 10NL you should just be playing very very abc poker and never get out of line anywhere because of someones stats. Im pretty sure your sample size is minimum because of the enormous player pool en ppl at these limits are hardly ever playing a standart way. Just get it in with all your nutty hands because you will get paid off anyway. You would have gotten it in here aswell with AJ if the guy didnt 4bet you pre flop. thats 10NL. |

Thanks for all the responses. Much appreciated. I wasn't trying to get particularly fancy but I felt he was capable of 3betting me light here given my steal attempts. I didn't 4bet here as I feel that it screams big pair or AK and will fold out loads of hands I can get value from post flop. even at 10NL players are not getting invoilved in 4bet pots without a hand unless they are mega donks, and this guy wasn't. Obviously if he has TT+ or AJ+ then we are likely getting it allin pre or post depending on flops. Whereas if I 4bet I likely fold out 22-99, Ax, Kx QJ type hands. Glad I made the right decision and called. Shame he had AA but thats life I guess. I know this hand may well seem standard but when its 170BB deep I wanted to know whether things were different. 100BB deep I am not even thinking about calling. In this spot on the flop though, is a donk/3b a better line given current pre flop action?

There's a lot I don't really like about the way you played this. First, your open raise seemed unnecessarily large, especially with the BB being TAG. Second, you should really be 4-betting this 100% of the time preflop in order to defend your steals (which is also why you shouldn't open so big, because you're getting a worse price on the steal and you inflate the pot when you bluff 4bet). Last, your flop raise was just massive. There is no reason you should raise that much with really any hand, much less one that you're not sure what to do with when he shoves. I'd make it more like 3x his bet and take it from there. As played this is a snap-call.
