I would bet more on the flop. looks like you bet 1/2 pot. Because of the two hearts i bet like 80% when 3 tone i bet about 60% The chance they have a 9 is not so big. The board did not pair i think. Would say a board pairs on the turn and river.

Preflop you have to raise more to thin the field. I would raise $0.65 with 3 limpers before you. As for the flop, again, I woould say bet a bit stroonger, say $1 or $1.10. This is to get value from weaker K's and smaller pairs that will call you on this paired flop and to protect it from draws. Flush draws and gutshots may call you and you want to protect. I am not sure about the turn bet. I think that weaker K's and smaller pairs that you beat are folding this turn and the only hands calling are made flush draws and a 9. I don't mind a check here to see the river and pot control given that you possibly have 9 outs to the flush. After you bet, what do you do on the river if its not a heart? As for the river I don't see what else you can do as I think you get called by worse flushes often enough to get it in. You never know a 9 might call at this level.

Thanks guys. After the hand I felt I didn't bet enough pre or on the flop. To be honest after the turn call I started to think I was loosing to a nine, but when my nut flush got there I was of course willing to get it in. As It happened the other guy hand 8-9o and sucked out on me, but is it wrong to not shove in this spot with a pared board? I really did think I got called pre with K-9 or 9-6. If the flop had come 9-9-8 or 9-9-10 I might have been worried about a full house.

What are you going to do if you are not going to shove? Check-fold ace-high flush getting almost three to one? He is not going to bluff you. If he has you, you are getting stacked anyway, might as well get value from the hands you DO beat, that will call but will not bet themselves. Which there are many. KQ. KJ. KX with a heart. JJ-TT with a heart. QJ, QT, JT with a heart. Maybe 77 with a heart. It's a 10NL unknown for crying out loud. Last edited by Vantek; 03-01-2009 at 01:46 PM. |
