Default This is a cooler, right?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Hero (SB) ($5)
BB ($10)
UTG ($2.02)
MP ($4.05)
CO ($10.20)
Button ($9.33)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K, A
1 fold, MP bets $0.15, 1 fold, Button raises to $0.25, Hero raises to $1.10, 2 folds, Button raises to $9.33 (All-In), Hero calls $3.90 (All-In)

Flop: ($10.20) 10, 9, J (2 players, 2 all-in)

Turn: ($10.20) 7 (2 players, 2 all-in)

River: ($10.20) A (2 players, 2 all-in)

Total pot: $10.20 | Rake: $0.50

Results:
Button had A, A (three of a kind, Aces).
Hero had K, A (one pair, Aces).
Outcome: Button won $9.70

Just making sure this is played correctly. The way he played, I didn't put him on AA or KK. The small 3 bet made me think it was something like AQ or KQ, not sure why. No reads.

standard, but I don't think it can be called a cooler.

You had a great unpaired hand that unfortunately had no fold equity against AA. The only thing that was going to save you was a Q or having KK or the heart flush come.

Serious. I have never seen another hand when I paid someone off who took that line.

I agree with Given. When a person takes that weird line, its always AA or KK in my experience. I personally think stacking off pre with AK is a leak at 5nl. I also think you should put stats and reads on villain before making a play like this. Preflop stats would help alot.

I also think it would be more +EV to see a flop. If you think he has AQ or KQ, why wouldn't you want to see a flop? You have his hand dominated. If you don't really know how wide his range is, you shouldn't be calling these 5 bets.

Actually after looking at the actions more closely you can easily fold when he shoves. I do like the 4bet, but he's just not 5bet shoving anything but KK+ so you can fold at that point.

I guess what I can learn from this is that it is better to be shoving than calling a shove. I still think it is pretty weak to 4 bet and then fold to a shove. Maybe I just need to pick better spots at 5NL.
