Default KK Facing donk bet on river w. missed flush

Villan is a 90/32 who has fired donkbets at me for 3 streets with air. but it is likely he is playing ATC

Poker Stars $0.01/$0.02 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players - View hand 59976
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

MP: $1.09
CO: $4.48
BTN: $1.65
SB: $1.97
BB: $2.13
Hero (UTG): $5.21

Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero is UTG with K K
Hero raises to $0.06, 1 fold, CO calls $0.06, 2 folds, BB calls $0.04

Flop: ($0.19) 5 5 J (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.10, CO calls $0.10, BB raises to $0.20, Hero calls $0.10, CO calls $0.10

Turn: ($0.79) 2 (3 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, CO checks

River: ($0.79) 8 (3 players)
BB bets $0.40, Hero ???

Is this shove or just a call? Theres going to be a lot of missed flush draws trying to steal this pot. maybe the odd pair with a draw too. How often do you think a 5 shows up?

also has the bet sizing and calling the 3bet on the flop should that have been played differently?

Not often enough to fold.

Also, raise more pre, raise the flop, bet the turn.

You can get a lot more value than you did by being more agressive, man.

Checking allows them to draw for free though

I think if he check-raises the turn its a easy fold so you can safely bet/fold and it makes the river alot easier to play (if heart comes and he all of a sudden donkbets big you can fold and if a blank comes and he checks you can fire out pot or even overbet cause people dont like folding pairs, especially when they can make a hero call against what they think is a missed flushdraw.
