Default Let's talk about raise sizing.

Not a specific hand, I just want some thoughts from guys who are micro grinding.

Do you vary your pre flop raise sizes based on your hand/position or both?

IE: If you're opening from UTG with KK would raise more than if you were opening from the CO or Button with it?

Or are you raising same amount every raise regardless of these factors?

I tend to base my raises on the specific table and the types of players and go from there, but I'm curious to hear what you guys think.

I try to keep my raising size the same. If I see that a table is willing to my call a lot, then I will up my raise to get more money in the pot when I have a good hand.

I pot it everywhere except on the BTN where I typically open to 3x unless there is a drooler in the blinds in which I'll just go for more value.

I make it 4x UTG and sometimes UTG + 1 depending on how players on left are playing and 3.5x everywhere else. I think I should start making it 3x from the button though.

I always just pot it cuz it's easy and I don't think it matters too much, but 3x from the button is a good idea especially if you steal alot, because then the steal only has to work 67% of the time instead of 70% with a 3.5x raise or 73% with a 4x raise.

i stick to 4xbb +1bb/limper, with some random bigger or smaller raises thrown in, (whether micro players notice this, I have no idea)

I adjust depending on position and players.

I always openraise to 3bb from any position in a NL25 6-max game. My reason is to be deceptive. Earlier I raised everything different dependent of my hand strength, but I guess my opponents too easily figured out what hands I had then.

Maybe it's better to openraise anything from UTG and MP to 4bb.

How much do you openraise with from sb? Before I raised to 2bb, but now to 3bb.

I'd just pot it everywhere, adjusting your opens based on players at the the table and not your hand. For example, if you have a drooler in the BB, then you might want to start opening to 4x from UTG.

From the small blind I'm raising to 3x against nits and 4x against weaker players (w/ a tightened range) as we're out of position and would like them to put as much money in as possible with weak hands.
