OK that was a bvb hand , me SB I raise A9o he calls, flop Kxx w fd, I cbet he calls turn x I fire again 3$ in 3,7 pot he tanks and calls, river is A but fd arrives. Now I really thought he has the K but was afraid of my hand since I never 2barreld at this table before. Should I bet the river or check/call,fold? He was pretty tight player and I fealt like he has a K but still I checked |

Why are you double barreling a tight player in a BvsB-battle? On the river you could c/f or bet/f depending on how loose he calls.

hes a reg at 20NL and almost all of them float flops w 1 overcard when they got a medium pocket pair, so I decided to do it this time... as u see he was unhappy even with KQ.. but normally Im not doing this but as he called the turn too I was sure he had the K maybe I shouldve thought a bit longer about it but I checked and he checked behind Last edited by Billy; 03-19-2009 at 12:38 PM. |

It's interesting that he hesitated before calling the turn bet. That probably means a made hand rather than a draw because the people who'll call a psb on the turn with 18% equity usually don't need alot of time to think about it. So I like b/f on the river. We can definitely get value from a K especially if we bet kinda smallish, and a K doesn't bluff-raise us since he wants to get to showdown and see if he's good. Definitely fold tp to a big raise, tho. |
