Why do you bet the turn? If you are beat, then you are in a very difficult situation, there are no draws (except a gutshot... but come on ^^) and if he has a Jack, he maybe will call you on the river or bet it right here. If you check you can go for a call on turn and a cc on the river, or if he does not bet the turn you still can bet the river. As played: I would call the 4.5 and check the river. If he fires a lot, then fold, if he checks: that's fine and if he bets small, then you can call.

And if he has a better A we still can split on the river /w a 5 or J (K or Q if he has AT), bust him /w a 8

Not a chance I fold this for such a small raise. I'd go ahead and call and c/c most river bets. He looks fairly aggro from his pre-flop stats so I just can't imagine he's only calling pre-flop with a better Ax (maybe A9)... A boat makes sense, but if that's the case you've got some outs. edit... leading the turn was definitely good. Last edited by no eff eks; 05-06-2008 at 07:42 PM. Reason: i like to edit |
