Default Small Pot, but Big River Raise

So it's a standard limped and checked pot. I hit my mini flush on the river and I decide to go for a check in order to let weaker hands bet and to induce bluffs. I mean... yes, I could bet 40 cents to win 40 cents, but I'd rather try to get a little more in with a flush. I've never seen this line before though... so can you guys help w/ villain's range of hands on this river? Villain History: Loose-Passive, and seen him shove over pot many times, but never seen cards.

Any reads on the villain might help.

His range is obviously polarized. This is probably a really stupid line for whatever holdings the villain has. If he has any Q he should be betting to protect from draws. So the only holding i can see him have is QJ that feels he has the deck crushed or a higher flush. Obviously since this guy is so bad, I feel fine giving up 1 bb and stacking him in the future. I don't think he is doing this with enough bluffs, and the pot isnt big enough to call.

I'd prolly just call, but I am a station in these spots, then note whatever he has. Your hand is under-repped and he hasn't shown any strength till now. I don't think his range has to be super polarized here as he could show up with random trips, straights, even two pair, he also could have FH's and other flushes, but i would prolly just call. Your read is really the most important here though, if you think he is a spaz it is much easier to call; if you think he's just passive and trying to get something for a big hand it's easier to fold.

Your reads are contradictory--villain is loose-passive, but he overbets a lot?

I'm betting this flop all the time.

I'm betting this river 100%.

I don't know if I've ever gotten to a river this way, so it's hard to give comments as played, but if one of your impressions is that this guy overbets with a significant frequency, I probably call.

You check river to induce and then defy your original plan and want to fold!? No way I can get away from this, overbetting donks show up with any random crap in this spot so it seems like a question to me of whether to raise or just flat-call. As played, I flat-call. Also, paired boards are especially decent to bluff on so go on ahead and bet it on the flop or at least the turn and then the river for value.

i sometimes take that route when i wanna get paid off with the nuts just call/check the flop and turn then overbet river works more times than you think but only works in micro stakes, still you have to look at how he has been playing more to get a decent read.

In my experience the check/check/overbet line is something villain considers to be a nut hand, rarely is he bluffing the flush scare card. Here, I'd give him trips, boats, or a flush (possibly an overpair if he's the kind to get tricky and limp those). I definitely like a call here because he often has trips.
