No? I don't give unknowns credit for folding straights on paired boards. You have 10 outs and I would draw to it. Especially since you have another 3-8 outs to tie.

It's a somewhat marginal spot. The immediate odds are terrible (2:1), but your implied odds are just barely good enough to make the call if you think you can stack him. In this case, I do believe that if you hit your boat, you'll stack him, as he's never folding a J in his hand. Plus, there's a slight possibility that he's bluffing. I usually don't think of chopping the pot as a reason to stay in the hand. You've only invested 90 cents, so I'd rather think more towards taking his stack than about chopping outs. With all that said, I don't hate your fold.

Implied Odds Math: It will cost you $2.20 to win the current pot ($4.40) + the rest of his money ($6.83)

2.20 / (2.20 + 4.40 + 6.83) = 16.38%; and since you have roughly 20% equity for a boat, you're good here if you think you can stack him once you hit.

yea, and on top of that you still have the split pot possibilities. However, the possibility of not being able to stack him after hitting the boat may cancel that out..

If turn is a 6, though, and he shoves, you don't really know whether to call his bet or not because it may or may not be a split pot.. so I see what you are saying about even just ignoring the split pot in the consideration.

I don't think this is at all a problem at this level, especially not with the SPR. As long as his internet connection doesn't die or he doesn't have a seizure before he clicks call, villain will delightfully fistpump-call anything on the river.

Add this to the fact that villain could be making some retarded blocker/spew/bluff- bet and it looks like an easy, yet thin, call to me.

Folding isn't bad either due to bad pot odds, but in position here, I think you can definitely see another street.

I call here as this is a great card for SB to bluff at and we have outs if he happens to have the straight. If we don't improve on the river and he bets out, I'm ok with folding but check behind if he checks. If we improve, he's calling our shove everytime.

We don't necessarily have any outs to tie here.

However, I think heros hand wins unimproved like 20% of the time (without having to call a riverbet) and we are pretty sure to stack him if we hit and he has JQ (or even Jx). I would call, thinking of my hand as a bluffcatcher and boat-draw.

My thinking here was: the pot is small, it's about to get big, and I have a second best hand, so I'll just bail. So I feel OK about the fold even if it wasn't the best move.

Unfortunately I later saw that this villain would routinely pot the flop or call the flop and pot the turn, even multi-way and oop, then fold to min-raises, so I might very well have folded the best hand here. There was another guy at the table playing a strict min-raise or fold strategy (3-bet of 45). The two geniuses later got it all-in preflop A6o > AJo.
