I think at 5nl, having too many stats would hurt your game. I think VPIP/PFR/AF (hands) 3bet/ Cbet/Fold cbet/ Steal Anything else you really need can be found by the popup menu. But I think keeping it simple at 5nl is the way to go. Most people don't even know what a light 3bet , double barrel, attempt to steal even is/means. I think it will just be better for you to play with these general stats, that way you don't live and die by the stats. |

Agree with above for 5NL all you really need are VPIP PFR AF HD CB FCB ST FST at 25 and 50NL i only use above +3b,f3b,2b,f2b custom pop ups are nice for stuff like squeezes, donks, c/r's, street by street aggression and showdown stuff. for 5NL I would say have a simpler HUD and just play more tables trying to move up as fast as you can |

Extensive stats like these become slightly useful if you have thousands of hands or more on villains. At 5NL where you'll rarely play with anybody else more than 200 hands, it's just random numbers that clutter up your decision making. I just use PFR and VPIP now. I added in some other stats at times to see if helped me out in some special spots, but it was very rare. So for those times, I just use the popup now. The most stats I regularly used was VPIP/PFR/3bet pre/Steal/CB. Basically, the stats where you can get lots of data points or when a lot of money goes in. Because with a stat like PFR+CB a player can have bet the sum of his entire stack in just a 50 hand sample. Seriously, these bets happen at such a high rate that it just overshadowws all other stats. (but nowadays, I think a stat like Steal % is related to PFR, so I think this as well as fold to steal (very closely related to VPIP) are sorta redundant stats) Stuff like the cold call pre, how does that help me exploit villain? VPIP tells me more than cold call. I guess you can try to make some extrapolation about VPIP wrt cold call gives me X range where he doesn't have this or that in this spot, but again, your head's exploding with this super stat analysis when just making good basic decisions at microstakes using the high freq stats will win you money. Here are absolute essentials for micros: Line 1: VPIP/PFR/Limp-call (or limp-fold)/Call Open Line 2: 3-bet/F3B/C-bet/FCB Line 3: WTSD/W$SD/AF/Hands Best HUD setup ever. Learn it. Use it. Love it. Marry it. EDIT: Steal/fold-to-steal are dependent on your style but the former you can get in the HEM popup so I think only the latter is worthwile to put in the HUD. |

Diff hud has changed my game, session swings have been bigger and more frequent but I am seizing opportunities that before I just wasn't brave enough to make any money from. I will take note tho and make sure that I play basic 3/no hud as well to keep me on my toes! Next pop up is going to limp call, limp fold related.... its work in progress for me. The funny thing is in some sessions I am playing like 32/28 (+10%) which is great for my table image! Last edited by FeckMyBankroll; 08-25-2009 at 07:04 AM. |
