does my line really suck?

i won this but felt lucky. Does my line suck? I have a bad habit of defending my big blind the first time it is raised when I sit down. And thereafter not defending it enough. So, I was in stubborn mood with QJs and decided to rep the flush with a lead on the turn. Does anyone else play this badly and get away with it or is it just me?
