Default Overpairs on straightening boards

Hand #1
Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($7.01)
Hero (BB) ($9.12)
UTG ($13.21)
MP ($25.48)
CO ($10.18)
Button ($14.93)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 10, 10
UTG calls $0.25, 2 folds, Button calls $0.25, SB calls $0.15, Hero bets $1, UTG calls $0.75, Button calls $0.75, 1 fold

Flop: ($3.25) 5, 6, 9 (3 players)
Hero bets $2, UTG calls $2, 1 fold

Turn: ($7.25) 7 (2 players)
Hero?

UTG is a donkey. 50 vpip and going to a lot of showdowns, shows up with a lot of suited/offsuit connected and
one gapper, 2 gappers type hands in any position... haven't seen any sort of semibluffs tho, and he goes to showdown a lot.

Would you bet/fold vs this guy?

Hand #2
Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($27.66)
BB ($9.75)
Hero (UTG) ($5.94)
MP ($28.65)
CO ($25)
Button ($26.55)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with J, J
Hero bets $0.70, 3 folds, SB calls $0.60, 1 fold

Flop: ($1.65) 3, 5, 7 (2 players)
SB bets $1.65, Hero calls $1.65

Turn: ($4.95) 4 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

River: ($4.95) 8 (2 players)
SB bets $4.95

No specific read here. Insta river pot after I check behind turn. I checked behind because I just want to see villain check twice to me. I see monsters...

Hand 1- I think we can check this. That was we will start getting some information out of him concerning the strength of his hand. A river that pairs the board would be kinda nice if he checks behind. This is all assuming that his range is heavily weighted on connecting cards. You could also bet full pot on the flop in this hand on the flop likeyou did in the second one. As long as you are doing that based on board texture, it's not exploitable (not that you have to worry at 25NL much)

second hand- it's probably about neutral EV to call- there is some chance that he is firing a second barrel or trying to valuebet an Ax hand or some kind of a 1 pair hand. He probably has the straight or a 2 pair; a lot of these players at these limits like to check when they hit their straight.

1 - Reload prehand, raise much bigger preflop (2 would be my standard), bet bigger on the flop, and shove the turn--this guy will still call with flush draws, 9s, and maybe even some worse hands.

2 - Reload prehand and shove the flop.

You really are a weak-tight nit. You want to fold overpairs as a shortstacker?!

Completely agree with Given on the 1st hand.

Not sure about the 2nd one... With such a short stack I'd called the river, but better to shove the flop.
With a full stack against an unknown villain I'd raise flop 2.5x and fold to snapshove but call if he thinks about it for awhile... Don't get why should we shove his raise... to represent AK-like hand and hope the SB will call w a pair?

Yah, I really am sucking lotta cock these days.

I'm gonna give myself a good slap in the face today tho.

I went from making hero calls with 100bb behind to making hero folds with 10bb behind. So basically I'm playing as worse as possible for the specific situation. I should start doing like that episode of Seinfeld where George decides to do the opposite of everything he would normally do and gets everything right!

Just put auto-rebuy on or player lower stakes.

Hand 1: check/fold. as you say he is showdown monkey so he wont be bluffing turn and that just smacks his range.

Hand 2: fold, don't see him checking turn to bluff the river often enough. Think he will bet turn a lot more often with his air.
