Default Win Rate Question?

I have been playing cap games at the 25nl level for most of 2009. I have been using HEM and it showes my win rate for the year to be only about 1.5Big Bets for the whole year. I have about 175,000 hands logged this year. I play a tight 16/14 style. I get rake back which makes me a decent amount of money, but I feel that there are sooo many bad players at this level that my win rate should be much higher. Any one have any input? I would appreciate any ideas someone might have.

Never played CAP NL, maybe it is different.

For micro-NL you can definitely make 3-4 bigbets per 100 with 16/14, and it's really a mediocre result. Either you play mostly with tough opps (poor table selection) or you have significant leaks.

Post some typical hands where you loose much.

You have to play much looser than that at 40bbs. You can stack off much lighter and therefore get much more value, and stealing also has much more value. Your nittiness is far more conducive to full stack play vs donks who will spew w/ tpnk for 100bbs.

So to beat really loose players, who seem to play almost any two cards. I need to loosen up my play?? This advice seems condtradictory to the norm. Usually the advice is to tighten up and play only quality hands. This does not hold true for cap games? I have watched videos on Stox Poker and on this site, but would really like to see one of the pro's do a video on Cap 25NL Holdem.

As for table selection I usually look for the loosest tables I can find.

Ok, table selection is good I suppose.
Why do you play capNL? Do you have any reasons to beleive it is more profitable?

Well, playing 16% of your hands is ridiculously nitty, think about it. You are playing by avarage 1 hand per orbit and you pay 1.5bb in blinds every orbit.

I can't comment on the cap games exactly, but I believe that for normal 6max VPIP should be something between 20 and 35, certainly never less than 20.

(there is <20VPIP winners, but most of them are massmultitablers, whom I have zero respect for tbh)

18 VPIP is borderline imo, but you're right 16 and lower is just total nitbox.

Opening up is one of the great aims in today's games for sure.

The problem it won't boost your profit by itself ldo, I like this quotation very much:

"I've mentioned a few times that fundamentals are way more important while playing LAG. In saying that, it should also be noted that your misunderstandings will be amplified, as the situation will arise more often. So if you CB poorly, then seeing that spot more often is going to burn you more money. If you don't double barrel well, then you are going to be less profitable postflop. Again, if you cannot play a TAG style well, then adding more spots postflop is just going to murder your WR."

this is a big misconception a lot of very tight players have.
In order to beat loose players all you need to do is play tighter than them.
Heck, if you play the same amount of hands as they do but use your position and better postflop play you can make money against them if there wasn't rake (although there would still be a lot of hands that you will lose money on longterm).
