Default PP vs overcard+FD

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

SB ($7.80)
BB ($7.46)
Hero (UTG) ($5.05)
MP ($13.34)
CO ($9.95)
Button ($3.51)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 9, 9
Hero bets $0.20, MP calls $0.20, 3 folds, BB calls $0.15

Flop: ($0.62) J, 5, 3 (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.45, MP calls $0.45, 1 fold

Turn: ($1.52) 7 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $1.25, Hero folds

Total pot: $1.52 | Rake: $0.05

Villain is a reg at this stakes, but not many hands with him

Q1: double barrell? I think he's calling the flop with a J or a draw, which he's never folding on the turn. He only folds a pokert pair there

Q2: If you have a strong hand say JJ, you get called pf, flop is Q82 rainbow, you cbet, get called, turn comes blank, do you still be the turn(hero is IP)

No, why would you double barrel? You bet flop for value.

2: It depends on how fishy he is and the texture of the turn cards. If there is a FD on the board, villain floats many overcards, the Q is the highest card, villain calls often with a pocket pair, then yes I bet.

So when do you actually double barrell? I know scare cards or improved hands should be barrelled but I kinda got the idea that you should barrell a FD, is that right?

THanks

Your FD is not usually good if you get action, so it doesn't really count.

I can recommend this basic reading on DB for you:

Db'ing this hand is really bad unless you can do it for value.

=( Why are you quoting me? I didn't say to double barrel. I agree with you.

Far better to be "double barrelling" with naked As or As w/ btm pair, or something.

You can bet turn for value with this in some situations to charge mid pair + random spade, etc, but I think it's really thin. I really would not recommend it unless it's a sick dynamic or headsup or something, and mostly if you expect villain to check back a brick river w/ top pair and air since then you'd be betting for free showdown also.
