Default Squeeze the Short Stacks

Don't have VPIP/PFR specific stats atm aside from btn opener being a wide opener (35%+ ) but with a very high F3b (over 80 IIRC). SB is a total fish who can have any broadways, any K-x garbage, sc's, etc etc. He is also very spewy.

I don't want to set-mine because btn is unlikely to pay me off with a set when I hit since I'll be c/r'ing multiway (and flat calling sucks). Or he just won't cbet when I hit and I'll have set-mined for nothing. I really just want to ship it versus the sb's very weak range or pot commit us.

The question here is, do you call the donk bet on the flop? I was planning to ship myself but even getting 2:1 I don't know if I can call a donk bet. Keep in mind he is very spewy.

It's really hard to come up with a range against which you'd have 33% equity here... But if you think he's so spewy it's close, you should remember that you still have him covered if you happen to double him up and you have direct position to him.

I make it a big bigger preflop to discourage BTN from calling and to make my decisions easier if SB just calls and flop comes like this. Just by making it slightly more (14-15bb) preflop, you can avoid making postflop mistakes against SB and obv with short stacks pushing preflop equities as much as possible is also great.

Yeah, out of session, I can see a bit bigger is better. In the heat of battle, though (per se), I didn't have the time to come up with an ideal sizing.

This is a close spot. As for your preflop I think it's absolutely fine. I do not advocate 3betting pre with marginal strong hands too much but this is definitely one of the spots where it can be fine, though calling is also okay imo. Flop decision is really close. The general rule of thumb is to just stack off any pair short stacked, but KTx is a really bad board for you. QJ is a very good hand versus you to begin with. If you have reads that he is spewey though, he can actually have btm pair somehow or a weaker pocket pair, don't ask how. I think it's not that bad to call really, and against some opponents it can be the best play.
