Default NL 50 rush: AJ as PFR on A-high board - bet the turn?

Wtf should I do here?

I wanted to bet the turn to protect against a flushdraw, but decided not to because:
- I'm only beating just A3-A8 now, and they are less likely aces in his range. Hard to imagine worse hands he calls my bet with
- T9 got there
- he can have 22/TT

If you bet the turn, then how much? Plan for the river is to check-fold?

As played, it is tempting to call his river bet in hope he bets worse ace. I don't know, I see him having best hand more often than me...

Why in the world did you check?

I'd bet/fold and maybe check the river.

I think, I call his river bet the way you played. His bet-sizing looks so weak (especially on the turn - so likely no 2pair or set) and we get good oods.

Checking or betting is fine on the turn with no reads imo.

Go for value and bet/fold all 3 streets vs an unknown. He will have the same hand as you just as often as 2 pair here and could possibly fold his own AJ to a 3rd barrel.

On the turn you can still get value from draws and worse aces by betting. Check/calling because you're scared of a monster is a mistake IMO. You lose the initiative and gain absolutely no information. If you're going to check, just check fold.

The only time I ever prefer a check/call on any street in this situation is when we have reads that villain will float the flop a lot or bluff with busted draws on the river. Since we don't know that and we are OOP just betbetbet and fold to a raise.

Yeah, I do not like my turn check... thinking of it now, I guess my play was influenced by previous solid losses
