I was happy to take down the pot pre, and it seemed very possible that's why I 3bet that CO open. Cbet is standard I guess... Played ok? Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop Button ($25.25) Hero (SB) ($57.25) BB ($53.50) UTG ($133.10) MP ($65.45) CO ($59.60) Preflop: Hero is SB with 10 , 10![]() 2 folds, CO bets $1.50, 1 fold, Hero raises to $5, 1 fold, CO calls $3.50 Flop: ($10.50) A , 5 , 6 (2 players)Hero bets $6.50, CO calls $6.50 Turn: ($23.50) 6 (2 players)Hero checks, CO checks River: ($23.50) 9 (2 players)Hero checks, CO bets $48.10 (All-In), Hero folds Total pot: $23.50 | Rake: $1.15 |

C-bet is definitely not standard. An ace constitutes a very large part of a villain's 3-bet range preflop and anything that doesn't have an ace (unless it's JJ or QQ) doesn't have much equity versus you anyways. I would check the flop.

I think you played the hand perfectly. The only thing I might do differently is just call preflop, but 3betting for value against the right villains is fine too. If you're going to 3bet bluff to just take it down preflop do it with junkier hands. I strongly disagree about not cbetting this flop after 3betting. Good aces make up a large portion of your range as well and you can fold out some better hands. Great bet sizing too, though I like 3betting a bit more than pot when OOP. Well played. |

in rush games 10 10 = shit hand if u dont hit flop with over pair on board............ u need to be checking to keep pot down so u can see if u hit your set on turn or river. You gotta remember everyone is playing pairs and big monster hands and folding the rest. I been playing like this and seems to work. |

also doesnt it seem kind of weak to bet so much post flop on a cbet then check check....... basically your saying I am going to do my normal c bet which everyone knows everyone does and when I dont hit I am checking it down. You present so much weakness doing this. Out of positions kill u it really does

I probably shouldn't be giving this away but it's kinda buried in this thread so... I'm absolutely murdering the 25NL 6max rush games by opening literally ATC to pot when its folded to me in any position and opening literally ATC UTG. I follow that up with a 100% cbet rate of 3/4 pot and go from there. I play my standard blind defense strategy. I also cold call tons of buttons and raise tons of flop cbets. There are some slight adjustments to this strategy when you have a bunch of shorties at the table. It's boring but pads the BR nicely. As far as cbetting Ace high flops after 3betting and giving up with weak hands when called goes, well, it's a tried and true strategy that shows a profit. Go ahead and 3 barrel or just check fold if you want. I really don't care lol. Last edited by H_H_H; 02-17-2010 at 02:12 AM. |
