Default NL50 rush: big draw against an aggrotard

@rush, the villain runz like 38/35/inf-AF, very 3betty, 100%cbet flops, etc. According to PTR he is not successful player.

I'm not sure if I made right decisions in general against this type of player.

First, folding pre is out of the question, do you think 3betting is viable alternative? Consider stat sample is too small to rely on his "fold to 3bet" percentage.

Next, do you think raising the flop (to stick in if he shoves) is better than floating?

Any other thoughts?

Villain is still in EP and you're not even ahead of a 20% opening range. I'd never 3-bet here.

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 46.487% 44.26% 02.23% 727553332 36599910.00 { KJs }
Hand 1: 53.513% 51.29% 02.23% 843058688 36599910.00 { 22+, A2s+, K9s+, QTs+, J9s+, T8s+, 97s+, 86s+, 75s+, 64s+, ATo+, KJo+ }

Our RIO are very high versus his calling range as well so if you think 3-betting/c-betting is a +EV play in and of itself, you can wait for offsuit rags and fire away. But 3-betting here ruins our hand's value imo.

I raise flop in this case because he will usually have worse hands that he's folding and since he db's so often, raising lets us get to the river cheaper most of the time by checking back the turn.

As played you hit a gutshot on the turn and you can rep straights, set, and even a few 2 pairs. I'd put in a semi-bluff.

Exactly what I was thinking. If you're going to be cold calling in position with hands like this you need to make some moves to make it profitable. The turn is a great spot to make one. There are tons of hands you can rep here by raising and you have plenty of nut outs when called.

Didn't think about turn raise, thanks for that.

BTW, yesterday I was in the same spot against this guy, the only thing is my KJ was offsuit... I 3bet him pre, he called, and check-raised my cbet on low board I had just 2overs, so folded.

As for PTR, yes they are not tracking rush. Regardless, if I'm really curious about certain villain I look him up and extrapolate his non-rush style to rush. I mean, if he plays good at normal, he is likely to play well at rush and vice versa.

3betting is a bit thin but not that bad; it is certainly above villain's range, hero is IP, villain will probably spew, KJs is close to AJs, and you advised 3betting AJs vs readless UTG, so how can you think 3betting KJs is bad vs a 38vpip and very likely to be super loose, and bad players are not positionally aware, so whatever... but I do think flatting is better personally.

I like just calling flop + turn and checking to win some showdowns.
