No reads at all. I'm thinking of 3betting pre, basically to avoid squeezes/multiway pots with unknowns, does it make sense? I assume betting the flop is out of the question, what about betsize? And I was really hoping at least the button will fold, but no such luck, and I was kinda lost on the turn. The pot is so big already, and my hand seemed marginal for me atm. Do you bet again and how much? Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com saw flop MP ($62) Hero (CO) ($70.55) Button ($68.35) SB ($54.70) BB ($46.25) UTG ($65.40) Preflop: Hero is CO with A , J![]() UTG calls $0.50, MP bets $2, Hero calls $2, Button calls $2, 2 folds, UTG calls $1.50 Flop: ($8.75) 10 , 7 , J (4 players)UTG checks, MP checks, Hero bets $5.50, Button calls $5.50, 1 fold, MP calls $5.50 Turn: ($25.25) 5 (3 players)MP checks, Hero checks, Button checks River: ($25.25) 9 (3 players)MP checks, Hero checks, Button bets $16, MP raises to $54.50 (All-In), Hero folds, Button calls $38.50 Total pot: $134.25 | Rake: $3 |

Yeah, 3-betting preflop is my favorite option but I don't think calling is all that bad but I think it'll be inferior to raising. Why do you check turn? Major mistake in this hand. Opponents are repping very weak ranges, you have a hand not happy with seeing many rivers and there's no reason to check. A lot of the hands you post have to do with a missed valuebet on the turn when then the river shits on your hand and you end up in a wtf? spot. Good advice imo is to forget the term "pot control." It's the worst advice I've ever read and is surprisingly common. If you're ahead of a calling range, you should bet. If you're behind a calling range, you don't. There are very few exceptions otherwise, especially out of position in multi-way pots. The reason has to do with the way pots build in no-limit structure games is geometrical, and to some extent balance as well. On wet boards where you have likely ahead of your opponent's holdings, but with few prospects to improve and many to decrease in value, the best line is typically bet/bet/evaluate. Just my 2 cents. |
