when the flush draw is out there i like to change my turn play. Somehow make it not profitable with implied or pot odds. So either check and he will most likely take a free card and you can lose minimuly on the river if it hits. meh. My prefered line is to bet very strong like pot or more, because he needs 5:1 pot+implied to make the call profitable. So i would have bet maybe 15-17 on the turn, really put the pressure on, and im willing to get it in on the turn if he has KJ or a set so be it. As played i like a check and evaluate, the pot is ~$37 with only 20 behind i might be calling off but he has taken a very drawy line. Getting almost 3:1 you kinda have to call but if he just shoves i dont see much he has but the flush.

Thanks for the reply, I think you are right about the turn. Next time I'll push harder, since I really hate check/folding the river whenever a flush card comes... prefer the check/vomit/call line, in general, though I'm open to other suggestions... In this case I bet $10 on the river, hoping he might not raise me if he had a baby flush, and might call me with an ace I beat or lower two pair... of course he raised me his last $9 and I vomited in my mouth and doubled him up when he showed 8-10 suited. In retrospect I probably took a bad line. Thanks for your input... |
