Villain is a nit--12/7/1.2, although I didn't have those stats at the table. Should I stab at this flop when he checks to protect my hand from an A, K, or Q on the turn? I'd check behind here. Protecting your hand isn't as important as protecting your stack in this situation. This is one of those opponents where I only call with JJ looking to hit a set or get to a showdown cheaply on a decent board. If he fires smallish on the turn I would probably call, but if he bets close to pot I'll probably fold. |

Nicer infomation than the regular xx/xx/x stats would be any info regarding to his 3betting range. Ie is he 3betting every second time or is this the first time you have seen him 3bet? that will give us a better idea on what hes holding. Im checking behind here also and betting out the turn if its checked to us again. if the turn comes with no AKQ then im calling his bets too.
