I only have 7 hands on my opponent here, so no reads whatsoever. Should I just check behind on the turn and fold to a bet? I thought the turn card was good to double barrel since it gave me a flush draw and was an overcard to the board. On the river he's only got about 4 dollars left and the pot was almost 7, so I thought that I had to at least take a stab, getting good odds on my bet and thought I might be able to get him to fold out some hands or I may be ahead. Hi, I believe you played it correctly until the river. Why do you bet the river? You are only going to fold out missed flush draws (which you probalby beat) and other hands you beat and get called by some pocket pair. Just check the river and fold to a bet (unless villain is bluffing with a missed flush draw but that doesnt happen alot at 10NL I guess). I put villain on a pocket pair like 55-1010. |

I think, that I check-raise him all in on the turn, so I get fold equity from some small pp or floaters and if he calls /w a pp, we still have 32% equity. If he checks behind = fine, cause we get a free card. The 9 is no scare card, imo, so it's not a good card for a second barrel. If he called your second barrel, he will call your 3rd barrel /w everything but a busted straight draw, that you have beaten anyway... |
